Custom Blackout Curtains Installation in Park Ridge Tower, Dubai Hills

Project Overview

Our curtain in Dubai store took charge of the project for a custom blackout curtain fitting in a residential apartment in Park Ridge Tower, Dubai Hills. The owner of the apartment needed complete control for the intense daylight, while the finish for the room was soft, spacious, and neat. We sent our curtain fitting team for a site assessment and helped the client with fabric selection, personalization, and track fitting in a single day.

Assessing the Apartment

The apartment’s interior décor included neutral walls with fresh, beige-colored wooden flooring. Furnishings in the room were also of light shades and had a wide single window. Morning sunlight was entering directly through the glazing and caused intense sun glare in the entire room.

During our visit, we measured the complete window wall and inspected the ceiling recess above it. The recess provided enough depth for a concealed track, allowing the curtains to begin close to the ceiling and continue down toward the floor.

This approach also helped create a longer visual line around the window.

Choosing the Fabric & Heading

We brought several blackout fabric samples to the apartment so the homeowner could compare their colours and textures against the existing finishes.

The final choice was a warm greige fabric with a subtle surface sheen. Its muted sand-beige tone blended closely with the walls and flooring, keeping the overall room visually calm.

For the curtain heading, we selected pinch pleats. The structured gathers created evenly spaced folds and gave the wide window a tailored appearance.

Behind the decorative outer fabric, we added a triple-weave blackout lining to provide stronger control over incoming daylight.

Custom Curtain Preparation

Our workshop prepared the panels according to the measurements taken at the property. We allowed sufficient fullness to maintain the pleated appearance across the complete window when the curtains were drawn.

The panels were carefully finished before installation, with attention given to the side edges, hem length, and pleat spacing. This ensured the curtains would hang evenly once fitted.

Installation Day

Our team arrived with the finished panels and began by protecting the flooring. We secured the concealed track within the ceiling recess and checked its alignment across the full span.

The curtain panels were then hung section by section and allowed to settle naturally. We steamed the fabric and manually dressed each pinch pleat so the folds remained consistent from one end to the other.

The hem was positioned close to the tile without excessive pooling. We opened and closed curtains a few times to do a careful movement check and fabric stacking.

After we were done with the final inspection, we did the cleaning for the entire work area and prepared the furnishings neatly.
