Outdoor Curtains Installation in Evershine Gardens, Al Barsha

Project Overview

Curtain shops in Dubai received an order confirmation for a custom outdoor curtain fitting in a residential balcony located at Eevershine Gardens, Al Barsha South, Dubai. The owner of the place needed a solution to take care of intense sunlight inflow. There was also the issue of privacy and dust but they needed an open view of the balcony as well. We took care of the order, including consultation, fabric selection, measurement, track fitting, and the final installation.

Why the Balcony Needed Curtains

The balcony was one of the lesser used parts of this apartment. It had an open position that caused the seating area to be directly exposed to afternoon sun while the heat would collect on the tile flooring.

There was also the issue of dust from the nearby road that would settle on the furniture despite daily dusty. The balcony faced a busy traffic road and surrounded by building on the sound, which affected the privacy.

In our complimentary visit, we assessed the level of sunlight inflow. We didn’t offer them a permanent window covering solution, instead, we suggested movable curtains. These could remain open during the comfortable hours and could easily close when the sunlight was harsh.

Selecting an Outdoor Fabric

We brought outdoor fabric samples directly to the balcony and compared them in natural daylight.

For this application, we avoided standard indoor curtain materials. The outdoor curtains needed to handle prolonged sunlight, occasional moisture, airflow, and daily cleaning.

We presented a solution of UV-resistant, water-resistant outdoor fabric that could retain its appeal despite any harsh condition.

The owner chose the cream based with a narrow taupe-brown vertical striped for these movable curtains. The light background looked perfect with balcony walls and helped create a bright appearance. As for the stripes, they blended well with the existing wooden furniture.

The vertical pattern also gave the opening a more elongated look.

Measuring & Planning the Installation

Our team measured the opening at multiple points because outdoor structures can have slight variations in width and level.

We measured the drop from the ceiling recess to the tiled floor and allowed a small clearance underneath so the fabric could move without scraping against the tiles.

The aluminium track was positioned inside the ceiling recess to keep the hardware discreet and create a clean upper edge.

We also calculated sufficient fabric fullness to produce defined folds while allowing the panels to travel smoothly along the track.

Installation Day

Our installers arrived with the track prepared according to the site measurements. After protecting the balcony tiles, they marked the fixing points and secured the aluminium track into the concrete structure.

The track was carefully levelled before final tightening.

The curtain panels were installed in two sections, allowing the homeowner to open either side independently. We dressed each fold by hand and repeatedly moved the panels across the track to check smooth operation.

After the final inspection, we removed the protective coverings, cleared the installation area, and handed over the balcony the same afternoon.
