Project Overview

Curtain In Dubai completed a motorized curtain installation at Al-Anbar Tower, Dubai Marina, for two rooms. We supplied ivory blackout curtains, pinch pleat headings, ceiling tracks, and Somfy motors, completing the work within one day.

Two Windows, Two Design Challenges

The first room was a children’s bedroom with an L-shaped corner window. The main side of the window had measurement of 240 x 250 cm and its return measure was 110 x 250 cm with a low window beneath its glazing.

The 2nd room featured a recessed three-panel window with measurements of 210 x 150 cm. it also had a deep sill and joined a wardrobe. Both these rooms also featured stepped ceiling covers with RGB LED strips to cover the windows.

Planning the Curtain Layout

We assessed both windows and discussed the family’s concerns. Marina lights made the children’s room too bright at night, while afternoon sunlight warmed both rooms. The owner wanted remote operation for the heavy curtains.

We planned ceiling-mounted tracks below the LED coves. For the corner window, a bent track followed the L-shaped opening, allowing both sections to close without a corner gap.

For the second room, we extended the track beyond both sides of the window. This let the curtains stack away from the glass and made the window appear taller.

Ivory Fabric, Pinch Pleats & Motors

The homeowner selected soft ivory blackout fabric. The neutral shade works well for the white walls, RGB LEDs, and cream flooring.

We make use of custom pinch pleat header for both room window. The grouped pleats offered regular folds with each panel cutting into the room height and finished neatly at the floor. Each track was fitted with a Somfy motor, so the owners could have a remote control.

Installation & Motor Setup

We protected the furniture and marked bracket positions along the ceiling edges.

The L-shaped track was fitted and checked around the corner. The longer track in the second room extended beyond the window.

We adjusted the pleats, checked the floor drop, connected the Somfy motors, programmed their limits, and tested each curtain for smooth travel before cleaning the rooms.

Project Results

Blackout curtains provide stronger darkness and daytime light control.

The corner track closes the children’s window without a corner gap.

Extended tracking keeps the second window clear when open.

Ivory pinch pleats complement the interior and RGB lighting.

Somfy motors provide quiet remote operation.

The complete installation was finished in one day.

The finished curtains brought blackout coverage and remote control while keeping the ceiling lighting visible.
