Soundproof Curtains Project in South Ridge Tower 5, Downtown Dubai

A Complete Project Story

Our curtain store in Dubai got an order for he installation of soundproof curtain in a luxury apartment in South Ridge Tower 5, Downtown Dubai. The apartment owner needed a solution for the outside noise. They wanted both the light and sound control entering via the glass window. Our team arrived at the apartment to provide everything from right consultation and fitting solution for the project in one working day.

Why the Homeowner Contacted Us

The bedroom was facing a busy Downtown Road due to a large glass window. Traffic sound was clearly coming inside from the window and the early daylight inflow started even before 6 AM. They had a child, whose sleep was disturbed due to all this.

Once the sun set, the illuminated city and neighboring tower lights kept the room bright even at the night time. The large glass surface was also the reason for high room temperatures in the bedroom. This resulted in higher electricity cost with AC running all the time at full capacity.

They had sheer curtains already but they provided only light filtration during the day. The issue of noise, heat, and little privacy still remained.

Consultation & Fabric Selection

Our consultant visited the apartment and assessed the window during different hours. We did the measurement for the complete opening and checked the curtain drop. We also did the checking for the ceiling line before offering them a suitable setup.

The bedroom had white walls with an oak flooring. There was metallic warm lighting in the room and to meet all this aesthetic décor, we offered owner a suggestion for a sand-beige triple-weave blackout fabric.

The neutral shade for the fabric worked best between floor and walls to let curtains blend naturally within a room.

For the heading, we recommended a pencil pleat style.

Its compact, evenly gathered folds suited the tall window and provided a structured finish.

Custom Curtain Construction

Our workshop prepared the panels with generous fullness to give the fabric greater depth and coverage across the opening.

We did the stitching for each curtain panel carefully with blackout and sound-reducing layers. Such a solution offers a heavier construction compared to a standard decorative draping.

We attached weighted bottom hems to allow these drapes hang straight and have double-folded to the side edges for a clean look.

Pleat tape and hooks were positioned according to the measurements recorded during the site visit.

Installation & Finishing

Our technicians arrived the following morning and protected the oak flooring before beginning. We established the mounting position with a laser level and secured the curtain hardware into suitable structural fixing points.

The full wall was covered with five custom curtain panels. Each panel was hung individually and adjusted until the drops aligned evenly with the floor.

We then steamed the fabric from top to bottom, removed installation creases, and manually dressed the pleats for consistent spacing.

Once finished, we tested the curtain movement, checked the overall coverage, and cleaned the bedroom before handover.
